Hamilton police make arrest in robbery at financial institutions

Hamilton Police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old Hamilton man in connection with robberies at two financial institutions that occurred within a day of each other.

On Monday April 4, 2022, a lone male suspect entered a financial institution in East Hamilton. On entering, the man approached the counter, handing a note to the cashier. The note stated that it was a robbery and that the suspect was armed. The suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed sum of money and fled the area.

On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the same male suspect entered another financial institution located on Hamilton Mountain. Again, approaching a counter and handed a note to the cashier. The suspect received a sum of money and left the scene.

No weapons were observed and no one was injured during the incidents.

On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Hamilton police arrested Gerald Adamson Poirier, 25, of Hamilton.

Charges:

  • Flight X 2
  • Disguise with intention X 2
  • Failure to Comply – Probation X 6

Poirier sees his surety object.
