IOGEAR announced two HDMI switches at CES. Both are designed to let you select which HDMI device is displayed on your HDTV, without connecting and disconnecting HDMI cables. They are also both spec'ed at HDMI 1.3. The IOGEAR GHDMIAS2 is being shown on the Show floor. It's an automatic two-port splitter with a manual override button switch between 1 and 2; otherwise it remains on the last HDMI device selected. Pricing was not available, but the MSRP is estimated to be below $130. IOGEAR GHDMIAS2 Front IOGEAR GHDMIAS2 Back
The second switch is a four-port model that will provide infrared remote control to switch between sources. Pricing was not available, but the MSRP is estimated to be below $200. Both are scheduled to be available in early 2007. It's encouraging to see more companies making HDMI switches available in the mainstream. IOGEAR.com
