Who's on the tag? If you're buying a gift for a techie music lover, this is an excellent choice. Price and feature wise, smack in between the Apple Airport Express and Sonos digital music system, the Squeezebox connects to any home stereo and plays non-DRM music that's sitting on any computer home network.
What's in the box? A network player, remote control, necessary cables to connect to your home theater. What's to like... or not? Upside: Excellent audio quality, wired and wireless network connections, remote control and analog and digtal audio output. Excellent integration with existing music libraries. Highly configurable. Downside: Display and remote makes it a bit slower to go through and set-up playlists. The advanced configuration can be overwhelming for novices. Will not play DRM-laden music such as music purchased from the iTunes music store.
What's the damage? $299.00 Squeezebox Wireless Player - White at Amazon Squeezebox Wireless Player - Black at Amazon
